THE BLUE SWORD by Robin McKinley
This isn’t bible fiction, but it’s a great book which has had an impact on me. I very much doubt that Ms. McKinley would consider herself a faith-based author; however, she has succeeded in penning a fantasy tale that follows certain spiritual principles. I strongly recommend it.
THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA by C.S. Lewis
For Children and Adults: Seven of the best, biblically-based fantasy stories you’ll ever read. A must whether or not you have children.
OUT OF THE SILENT PLANET; PERELANDRA, THAT HIDEOUS STRENGTH, by C.S. Lewis
Another fantastic offering from C.S. Lewis (it’s going to be difficult not to stock this page with only Lewis selections!) Each of the three books is excellent, but I am particularly drawn to book 2: PERELANDRA. In it, the planet Venus sets the stage for a garden/Eve/serpent story. Unbelievably compelling.
THE GREAT DIVORCE by C.S. Lewis
My all-time favorite book! C.S. Lewis exhibits - once again - an amazing grasp of human nature. In the process, he gives a glimpse of eternity.
HIND’S FEET ON HIGH PLACES by Hannah Hurnard
A timeless allegory on pursuing spiritual maturity. It’s one of those books that reverberate in your head long after you’ve read the last page.
MOUNTAINS OF SPICES by Hannah Hurnard
The sequel to HIND’S FEET ON HIGH PLACES, this book is wisdom literature at its finest: Hurnard displays great insight into the human character.
